The National Cancer Waiting Times (CWT) data collection system allows NHS providers to record data derived from patient care activity. As a patient moves through stages of their treatment, pathway data on referral, treatments and diagnosis are taken from care records locally and reported centrally.
But – and it is a large BUT – large foundation trusts when measured on their CWT status code knowledge only show an average pass-rate of 32%!
